Well, this is *Van* we're talking about.

You may remember him as "The Tie Guy" -- who oddly enough turned out to be "The Thai Guy."

He's destined for greatness.

Or perhaps he will have greatness thrust upon him?

I love the idea of a Grant like state.

Also, I thought of you while watching Steven Colbert's Christmas Special. There is an Ode to Nutmeg on it, or something like that.

God No God NO.

MY EYES! MY HEAD!

The pain never leaves. Never.

In other news, I've been wondering what it takes to start an online university. It seems like there's room for something that's nichey (I know two largely-online anthro profs, and then there's me, who's never taught exclusively online, but I've used Blackboard) - the internet loves niches. I'm not sure how that fits with accreditation, though.

We just need to hang out and talk about all this cool stuff. Seriously. Are you going to even venture down this way this weekend? My car is running again, so I could even meet you somewhere in the middle. It's just stupid that I am not seeing you more regularly.

What's the northmost you regularly reach? I work in Boca....

Well, the northernmost I regularly reach is my coffee maker in the kitchen, but Boca is a very fine destination. I would happily meet you there.

Ooo! When's good?

This is a rough time of year in a rough year as far as dining/deadlines go, but I could squeak out sometime... Friday and Monday are (usually) my easiest days.

Next Monday actually looks quite fabulous. What do you propose?

Well, hmm. I wonder if the weather would support a picnic at a park that's near here.... good place for sandwiches and sunshine.

Lunch for me is *usually* late, around 1:30 or 2:00, but that's just my habit, not a requirement.

If al fresco BYOS dining doesn't appeal, there are a couple of inexpensive eateries around here.

A late lunch works just fine for me. I suppose I could pop up there, you will have to e-mail me the specifics, and if the weather looks good we can go outside, if not, we can hit a diner or something.

I don't know why we haven't hit upon this idea before!

There's more to this exchange archived over here, which includes a good amount of practice and theology.
